A knocked-out tooth has the highest chance of being saved if treated very quickly, so please call us for advice straight away. In the meantime, handle the tooth carefully by the crown (the chewing surface) only, and never touch the delicate roots. After gently rinsing the tooth with water to remove any dirt or debris, try to gently place it back into the socket, ensuring it is the correct way around, but do not force it. If you cannot reinsert it, you must keep it moist by storing it in a container of milk or tucking it inside your cheek.
