Leyburn Dental Practice is committed to the health and safety of our patients and staff. We operate under the strictest of standards in cross infection control but following advice, while we go through the current phase on the Covid-19 outbreak, it has been recommended by the Chief Dental Officer of England and the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (Royal College of Surgeons UK) that we radically reduce the number of non-urgent treatments performed. Our professional body the British Dental Association has advised us to comply with the social distancing advice from the government (i.e. avoiding unnecessary contact with other people), the advice is to move to emergency treatment only and that routine oral health checks and hygiene appointments should be postponed and also postpone any non-essential procedures that use any high speed instruments with air compression, as they generate airborne particles.
For those patients who this affects, that already have an appointment, we will try to contact you directly to discuss the situation and reschedule where necessary.
Our practice will remain open to provide essential and emergency care. If you have an emergency please ring the practice as early as possible (The surgery phone will be manned from 9am Monday to Friday, answer phone will operate at other times)
Do not attend the practice if you have potential Covid-19 symptoms or those in your household do and you are self-isolating. If you are in this group and have a dental emergency, please contact the practice for advice.
We hope this change is short-lived but our commitment to the health and safety of our patients, our staff and the general public is paramount.
Please contact the practice if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanking you for your understanding and co-operation at this time.
